Hi, I'm Elijah Muse - music director, educator, producer & founder of Gifted Hands Music.
I have had the opportunity of traveling the world performing and directing a wide variety of artists and bands. With over 10 years of music education experience and an in depth understanding of music, my goal is to help you improve your skills and understanding faster than you ever thought possible.
With over 23 years of playing experience, I know first hand the struggles that you've dealt with in your journey to becoming a better musician and learning Neo Soul. Not only do I understand the struggles, I've spent years learning and creating simple strategies to play Neo Soul that i'm going to teach you in this course!

I remember being a teenager listening to music all day long and enjoying the different instruments, chords and changes that each song brought. I would jam out no matter where I was as the rhythm and harmony took over. One day I was introduced to the genre of Neo Soul and fell in love with artists like Robert Glasper, Jill Scott, and D'Angelo. The sounds, chords and progressions in their songs were jazzy yet soulful and something completely different than anything I had ever heard! I was bursting at the seems with excitement and could hardly wait to get to a piano and try to learn what they were playing.
All of that excitement and energy quickly turned into torment and frustration as I sat down at the piano for hours upon hours, days upon days, trying to figure out what the heck was going on in all of these songs. There were numerous times when I would walk away from my instrument in disappointment and frustration feeling like all the time I had spent hadn't gotten me anywhere.
